Dr. Craig Spelke is a native of the DMV, from North Bethesda, MD. Dr. Spelke graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA in 2017. During his year of clinical rotations at The New England College of Optometry, Dr. Spelke was fortunate enough to work with many of his professors, all of who were great clinicians and many of whom were specialists within the field of Optometry. Dr. Spelke spent much time not only learning and practicing general optometry but also working on hard to fit contacts, pre/post-op LASIK. His training included time at private practices in Atlanta and Boston. Additionally, he trained at the VA Hospital in Philadelphia and the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He was able to not only learn how to be a great clinician, but how to build a successful practice that revolves around patient care as his primary focus. All of these experiences have served to make Dr. Spelke a well-rounded doctor capable of performing routine eye care needs as well as fitting specialty contact lenses. When he is not in the office, Dr. Spelke enjoys international travel, playing soccer and tennis, and spending time with family and friends. He is also an avid sports fan who can routinely be seen at Capitals and Nationals games. Dr. Spelke is excited to be back in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and looks forward to providing the most current and effective care to his patients.
